I prefer 5k at the moment but I'm working up higher.
What about you?

I have just started running after a 20 year lay off. After years of abusing my body (fat) I have started running ,weightlifting and kayaking. I use to run 10k and that's what I am working towards. Right now I would use a calendar to measure my speed.

After years of hard alpine skiing, hiking, and climbing in the mountains, I now prefer to adventure while sitting down in the summer months.

I only run if I'm being chased by something... :D

Hi,

I used to run distance, all the way up to a marathon (ran in NYC). I never thought I would not run but my knees finally said find another way to stay aerobically fit. So now I bike, swim when I can, hike and am starting kayaking. In the winter I down hill ski but that is not aerobic but definitely contributed to my knee problems. I also got into triathlons for a while. The bottom line for me is nothing I have ever done kept me as aerobically fir as running so run if you can.

Now I think it?s time for me to go for a paddle and try and not drown. I now dodge ducks and herons instead of trucks and cars.
