Gosh I hate being a newbie but everyone was at some point, right?

Been solidly into kayaking for a few years now. Generally kayak every weekend and whenever time permits otherwise.

It's terrific to know there are other water rats on the internet - HA!

Welcome!

How late into the winter do you continue kayaking, and what do you wear when you do?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Here in east Tennessee we have moderate winters. As such we get several warm days from time to time to kayak and a dry shirt with spray skirt is sufficient. Most of our kayaking is spent in spring, summer and fall.

Hey! I'm a noob!

Is anyone in this post familiar with the Tennessee River Blueway: Williams Island to Bennett Lake? I am looking into kayaking this part of the Tennessee, but can't find a local outfitter that offers shuttle service and I do not know anyone in the area. Great to meet other noobs! Thanks...

Familiar with it; have not paddled it. Here's a little more on it: http://www.outdoorchattanooga.com/1314.htm
A separate search for outfitteres in the Chattanooga area might help you find those who offer a shuttle service.

Kayakerbob, welcome to the forums!

Although I can’t recommend an outfitter to assist with shuttle service I would suggest that you check into a paddling group. http://www.meetup.com/find/ then just enter paddling as the interest and Tennessee for the area. You will be pleasantly surprised with the people who are in these paddling groups. Hopefully you can find someone that will assist you with a shuttle. There are lots of nice people paddling and willing to help another paddler.
