Hi - I'm new to these threads and really only a tourist kayaker so please excuse my general ignorance on terminology etc.
I am interested in doing a 5 (ish) day kayaking trip with a friend around the Abel Tasman national park - and we need to decide whether to go on a tour or if it's safe enough for us to just go it solo. My friend has a lot or kayaking experience just not sea kayaking. We've no concerns on the camping side of things.
If anyone has any experience in this area and can give some hints about how safe it is for beginners in the area it would be much appreciated. So far I've only been able to find that no experience is required on the tours.
