I'm looking for a replacement skeg for a discontinued model, Heritage Sea Otter. I have not been able to find one yet. I might have to learn how to make one myself. If anyone knows of a lead for the skeg (to buy or make), please let me know. It's a small fixed skeg that fits into a 5 inch slit under the kayak. No screws, just held in place by the friction of the rubber like surface at the top. The skeg itself is plastic. I guess if I have to make it myself, I'll have to take woodshop at the local college and make one out of wood : ) Thanks. -Hieu

There is this really interesting plastic product that I have been investigating for another project, KYDEX. It is used for all types of things. It comes in various colors and thickness. You don't have to have any special tools to work with it. You can buy it on eBay and Google it to find out how to work with it. I do believe this stuff could save you a lot of time and money. Good luck
