Have any of you gone kayaking in the winter months yet. Well I did last weekend and we had a blast. I'm in Michigan so its cold with snow and ice. Three good friends and I went down the Chippawe river for about three and half hours. we saw more deer and ducks and turkeys than we count. I have never seen so much wildlife along the river before. We dress for the weather. Which was pretty good, sunny and about 38 degrees. No problems on the river. We will try again in February.
Lets hear about your latest adventure...

I just got back from a trip in Missouri this morning. We ran into the "I-40" storm. Good times.

I agree that winter kayaking can be a blast if you dress properly. Of course here in California, the winters are nothing like you guys have. I'm in northern CA in the foothills of the Sierras (we have pine trees not palm trees and we do get some snow) but still nothing like the midwest or northeast. When we venture "up the hill" to Lake Tahoe in the winter, then we get into conditions that may be similar to yours on a nice day. Good fun. :)
