Dangerous Storms

I hope all the storms that have been hammering the Country calm down. We have over 30 (huge) trees down around our home. One hit the roof and deck but didn't bust into the house itself about two weeks ago. The most recent tree went down Sunday and landed on the hubbies car :mad:. It missed the garage where the kayaks are stored. We have had so much rain and straight line winds that the woods on our property are loosing mature trees left and right. Loggers will be starting the clean up process if and when the storms stop long enough for the ground to dry. Still I realize we are very lucky compared to what folks in other areas are dealing with like the deadly Joplin tornado. Everybody stay safe and pay attention to the weather warnings and take shelter in a basement when the warnings are issued.

The weather reports indicate we are expected to get hammered (again!) tonight. We were fortunate enough to be able to sleep in our own beds all last night but it looks like it's going to be a basement night tonight. Right now the weather is nice, and I'm kind of going thru paddling withdrawals. I contemplated running over to the lake to paddle for an hour or so but ruled it out do to so many other things going on. Maybe I'll hit the water this weekend. I almost forgot it's a holiday:) weekend coming up!
