Paddling in Vancouver

Anyone have experience with places to Kayak in Vancouver?

You can rent kayaks at Ecomarine (http://www.ecomarine.com/) on Granville Island (a very popular market area near the west end of False Creek). From there you can either paddle east along False Creek (a flatwater inlet) or you can paddle west into English Bay and along Spanish Banks (open coast, but usually not very rough). Ecomarine also offers tours and classes, and their website (tours especially) will give you several other ideas for places to paddle.

Cultus Lake, Chilliwak River, Chehalis river, Hatzik lake but those are mainly in the Fraser Valley region .

there is also Deep cove which is a part of the Indian arm which is so nice
