Hi there - I am up in the mountains in the town of Big Bear - snow is still melting but the lake is full and I am ready for getting out on the water. I am a yoga teacher, and am really excited to offer a new yoga class in Big Bear - special for paddlers. Looking forward to it and meeting folks on here. Cheers!

Welcome to the forum, KaYogaGirl. I've never been to Big Bear, but have read about it, seen pictures of the area, and it's pretty there. Going to CA on vacation this year, and might swing thru there. If I make it to Big Bear, I'll have the kayaks with us.

KaYogaGirl, Welcome! I will be in Big Bear this summer and would love to know some great places to go, if you don't mind.

Sure! On the water or other? (Hikes or places to eat, etc?)

Well - FYI - remember that if you come to Big Bear Lake you must get a boat permit - for kayaks for the season it is $45, or I think $15 for the day. You have to have an inspection, which just takes a minute at one of the ramps. They are trying to keep muscles out of the lake. No big deal. It is really fun to paddle the entire lake - 21 miles. Or there are quite a few nice places to paddle in smaller bay areas. Come on by!
