Just bought my first kayaks yesterday. I've wanted to do it for a long time. My sons and I watch people kayaking all the time out our front window. We live on the inside passage in Alaska where almost every house looks over the water. Well, it's all mountains, there just isn't any other way to do it! Anyway, I have a lot of questions and am looking forward to getting to know some of you.

Which Kayak did you buy, if you don't mind sharing?

Alaska Kayaking, I really want to get there some time soon. Do you have pictures by chance?

As a new Kayaker, I would like to share a couple points and suggest you spend some time checking out our archives.

First, make sure you get familiar with your boat to include getting in and out of it in water. Practice in shallow first, then move on to water over your head. Take a buddy with you to both.

Second, be safe and take your time. There is much to learn and enjoy.
