Awesome trip, and awesome video. I'm jealous.

We're going out that way next month, so some info would be great....do you have to get a permit to paddle the Black Canyon? Did you use an outfitter to run the shuttle? If so, which one?

I have done much the same with a canoe and it is a hoot. Of course, mine were just day trips but it is some great scenery and you captured it well.

I think I saw that same Mountain Goat or his brother. ;)

The Black Canyon is a great place, been there a couple of times. You can put in at Willow Beach and paddle upstream to find some nice campsites on the washes at the bottom of side canyons. Then do day paddles and/or hikes. However, you need to be aware of the release schedule for Hoover Dam since the current during peak energy times is too strong to paddle against. Our favorite campsite is about 8 miles upstream from Willow Beach, which puts it just a few miles from the Hoover Dam. There's one picture on my Touring Kayaks (http://www.kayakreview.org/touring-kayaks-and-sea-kayaks) page of us just getting back to that camp at dusk after spending the day upstream. Last time we were there for 5 days. Makes for a great winter break.

Excellent video thiago1029... Loved the music in the video. Just want to go out and do some kayaking touring myself. Unfortunately the weather in SA doesn't allow something it this time of year.
