:DClap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, smile… kayak karl you’re a paddler I can relate to. I love your wonderful self made storage and your ability to think outside the box. That, my Friend, is an absolutely GREAT idea. (I only wish I had been able to think of it.)

Does it interfere with quick exiting the boat?

I struggled to come up with some sort of under dash storage system for personal protection items. I settled for top side removable storage (not waterproof) that I have never been 100% satisfied with. Your idea will be implemented on one of my boats.

i had the old one for 2 years and never hit my legs on it. you could go 3"
or even 2" for maps.

got the idea from the roof of my plumbers van. his are 6" and stores length of pipe in them.

A very neat idea that one.

I have yet to get my hot little hands on my first kayak (June 11, prospective date of acquisition due to budgetary requirements), but I am sure that this will be one of the first custom features I add.
