The basics and good places to go.
A good site that I found is called “Meetup”. It’s actually for all sorts of activities but has a lot of paddlers (at least in my state). I haven’t been able to meet up for any of their paddle trips yet as I’m in the southern part of the state. But I’ve found it very interesting to learn about the areas they paddle. A couple of the members have posted some very good maps.
You might have good luck with a kayaking “Meetup” group in your area. I am also considering starting a group in South Central Kentucky so there will be more people to paddle with in my area. I hope this helps.
