Hi All,

This afternoon my buddy who owned the canoe we used to fish out of who moved came back into town for a few days and got in touch. He wants to go do some fishing at the Lake. After getting his temporary license we sallied forth to one of the public fishing areas on the shore line and chummed with some 'chovies and baited up with Sardines. Having been around this place on my Kayak, I knew where the best places to fish were at, and yes, I did show him where to throw. Although it did take a little for him to remember to keep his line tight as soon as it hit the water, he did manage to catch a couple of Stripers.

No, he didn't bring his canoe, said something about it wouldn't fit in the overhead storage compartment on the plane. While I did offer to tow him behind my Kayak on an inner tube, after looking at some of the places I have taken it, he thought I might very well get him out there and cut the line, paranoid....:D

So far the box score stands at Visitors - 2, Home Team - 6. ;)

So it looks like I will be doing some shore line fishing the next couple of days. We might get the Kayak out, but he is looking at it and looking at how big the lake is and well, wondering about my sanity since he left.

Hi All,

My canoe owning buddy from California and I got back out to the Lake for some more fun with the Stripers last night. We chummed up an area with cut up 'Chovies then baited up with Sardines. We stayed until about 11PM and had a pretty fair evening. Everything was "Catch and Release", hoping they will get bigger as time goes on.

This was my biggest fish of the evening. As you can see, most of them are pretty much the same size. One of the reasons for getting a Kayak for me was to be able to get on to some larger fish. Fishing from the shore line at Lake Mead, this is about par for the course.

The box score for this evening was Visitors - 5: Home Team - 8.

Wow! That's a good catch..I've never caught a fish as big as that in my entire years of kayaking. Hmnn..well may be i just need enough patience. I've caught fish several times but just the normal size.
